Step-by-step: redesign your room
Step 1: Upload your room photo
Open HomeDesigns AI and choose the Interiors workspace. Drop in your photo (JPG or PNG), paste it with Ctrl + V or take one with your phone.
Shoot from a corner at chest height in daylight so the AI sees the full room.
Step 2: Choose the room type
Pick the matching room type, such as Living room, Bedroom, Kitchen or Home Office. Click View All to see every option.
Step 3: Pick a design style
Choose a style such as Scandinavian, Japandi, Minimalism or Art Deco. Not sure? Read 15 interior design styles explained. Choose No Style – Image Improvement Only if you only want a cleaner photo.
Step 4: Set the AI Intervention level
A low level keeps the room close to the original. A high level allows bold changes, which may move or remove walls.
For rooms with many windows, corners or objects, keep the level low for more accurate results.
Step 5: Add custom instructions (optional)
Describe what you want in Additional Instructions, for example “beige palette, oak floor, linen curtains, large green plant”.
Step 6: Generate designs
Choose 1 to 4 designs (each uses one credit) and click Generate New Designs.
Step 7: Refine, enhance and download
Use Continue Editing to build on a result with a new prompt, Generate Again for new variations, and the HD button to sharpen textures. Then click Download.
Start with a simple prompt, then refine step by step instead of writing one long prompt.
Prompt examples
| Goal | Prompt |

Frequently asked questions
Does HomeDesigns AI change my walls?
Not at low AI Intervention levels, which keep the structure. High levels can make structural changes.
How many designs can I make?
Each design uses one credit; Standard includes 100 credits, Pro 1,000 and Expert 2,000 per month.
Why does my result look strange?
Usually because of a dark, blurry or distorted photo, or a high AI Intervention level. Retake the photo in daylight and lower the level.
Wrap-up
Redesigning a room with AI takes seven steps: upload, choose room type and style, set AI Intervention, add instructions, generate, then refine and download. Try three styles on the same photo and compare. Read our HomeDesigns AI review for plans and features.
